No person shall shoot or discharge any gun, compressed air gun, rifle, pistol, or
other firearm without first having obtained a written permit from the Chief of Police
so to do; provided, however, that nothing contained in this Section shall apply to
the shooting or discharging of any gun, pistol or other firearm by any Police Officers
or other law enforcement agent in the discharge of his or her official duties, nor
to the discharge or shooting of firearms in any licensed shooting gallery, target
or other gun or rifle range or any theatrical performance or exhibition.
