§ 10.34.025. Application for disabled parking designation.

  • A.

    Any person who has been issued a special identification license plate pursuant to Vehicle Code, Section 5007 or a distinguishing placard pursuant to Vehicle Code, Sections 22511.55 or 22511.59 may apply to the City Traffic Engineer for the designation of an on-street parking space as a parking space reserved for disabled persons. Such application shall contain:

    1.

    Evidence of authorization from the California Department of Motor Vehicles of authorization to use disabled parking;

    2.

    An explanation of medical need for parking at the requested location;

    3.

    Certification by the applicant that no existing on-street or off-street parking space meets his or her parking needs;

    B.

    When any of the circumstances in the application change or cease to exist, the applicant shall notify the City Traffic Engineer.

    C.

    The City Traffic Engineer is authorized to conduct reviews of eligibility and continuing need for the disabled parking space once every two (2) years.
